The secret of Powertec's stunning looks start with the gorgeous Italian stainless steel mesh which
surrounds the entire filter. This is complimented perfectly with a precision embossed Powertec logo in the mirror polished aluminium end cap. Nearly all Powertec kits feature a highly polished aluminium spun base, with precision TIG-welded pipework where required. Your factory air box has a job to do. One of these being to silence the engine as much as possible! Not only does this often strangle the performance but it keeps induction noise to a minimum. By replacing the standard airbox with a Powertec induction system will unleash the induction roar that your engine was built to make. At low revs and part-throttle you shouldn't notice a big change, so there is no danger of a headache on motorway journeys. The pleated stainless steel mesh utilised on all Powertec filters change turbulent airflow on the outer surface of the filter to laminar (straight) airflow on the inside. This laminar air flow helps larger volumes of air enter your engine, for improved performance. The less restriction a filter gives, the higher the airflow. The more airflow, the more power! The graph on the right shows the results of an air restriction test between Powertec and another leading induction kit. The results show Powertec's exceptionally low air restriction.
